Grandpa killed in Gapo fire

    OLONGAPO CITY—A grandfather died of suffocation and half of his body was partially burned when his house in Barangay Sta Rita, here was razed to the ground, Monday evening.

    City Fire Marshall, Major Jonas Silvano, identified the victim as Francisco Balaes, 76.

    Arson investigator Fire Officer2 Adam Ramos, said the fire started at about 10:35 p.m.  due to faulty electrical wiring.

    “Yung si Balaes ay nakalabas na sa loob ng kanyang bahay, pero bumalik pa ito para patayin yung apoy at sa tindi ng usok di na niya nakayanan hanggang sa bumagsak ito at masunog yung kanyang kalahating katawan”, said FO2 Ramos.

    Close to P200,000.00 worth of personal belongings and properties were turned to ashes in the  said fire.
