SAMAL, Bataan: Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go inaugurated the super health center here while visiting another one about to be completed in Hermosa town Wednesday.
Go, Senate committees on Health and Sports chair, also cut the ceremonial ribbon of the Samal Public Market and led in the groundbreaking of the Samal multi-purpose gym.
The Senator said that the establishment of super health centers was part of his initiative to increase healthcare access, especially in primary care and to bring medical services closer to the grassroots.
Go stressed the vital role of super health centers in the government’s healthcare strategy. He shared that the center functions as a medium-sized polyclinic, providing consultation and primary care services.
Go also said that PhilHealth consultations are accessible at the center that will cater to all Filipinos as PhilHealth members. He also mentioned the availability of laboratory services, birthing facilities, and stressed the importance of early disease detection.
He observed that the Samal super health center has almost complete medical equipment.
Go said that they are all cooperating in the Senate to accomplish the establishment of super health centers in the country.
Go said that more than 600 super health centers will be built in the country with eight in Bataan.
He also announced that the establishment of regional specialty centers that is the priority of President Marcos and Senate President Miguel Zubiri and which he has principally authored with the help of congress has been passed into a law.
