LIMAY, Bataan — Fish caught from oil spill-threatened Manila Bay here are still available in the Limay Public Market Sunday but vendors complained of big cut in income from fish sales.
“Medyo matumal ngayon ang benta kasi natatakot sa langis pero hindi naman dapat kasi noong isang araw nag-boodle fight kami okay naman, wala namang nangyaring masama sa amin, ayos naman, okay naman,” vendor Nelda Fajardo and other vendors said.
She said that hasa-hasa that was previously sold for P280 – P300 a kilo now sells at P200 – P240.
Asked as to the comparison in previous sales to the present, Fajardo said “Nako malaki ang diperensya ngayon malaking kawalan sa akin, minsan hindi na kami nakakahulog sa mga hulugan. Lugi, madalas malugi ganon ang nangyayari.”
