Fire hits residential area in Lubao

    LUBAO, Pampanga — A family residing in Purok 6, Barangay San Agustin here is now homeless after a fire on July 20 burned down their house.

    Romio Salazar, his wife Beng, their three children and three grandchildren were not at home when the fire broke out at around 9 am.

    According to Barangay Captain Efren V. Calma, Salazar’s neighbors were able to report the incident immediately to the Lubao Fire Station and even helped in putting out the fire before the firemen arrived.

    However, other nearby houses have been slightly damaged due to their proximity to Salazar’s house.

    But there were no reports of injuries.

    According to firemen, the fire raged for less than an hour and may have likely started by a faulty wire. The damage was placed around P500,000 worth of properties.
