Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corp. (formerly Fil-Am Foods, Inc.), with its passion to inculcate the importance of education to the youth, recently held its 4th Capas Brainshow at Mr. Blue Function Hall, Capas, Tarlac.
With this year’s theme “Edukasyon: Tungkulin ng Bawat Isa,” Pilmico Animal Nutrition conveyed to students, teachers and parents the value of Education and what it implies to one’s future. This annual ComRel Education event was anticipated by all elementary public schools in Capas. The quiz bee is open to all public elementary schools in Capas, one student from Grades 4 to 6 representing their schools.
The event started at 8:30 am with the registration of all participants and visitors. A total of 20 schools officially registered, each school represented by students, faculty, coach and parents. The quiz bee proper, which was hosted by Gammycel Sarausad, ComRel Coordinator, immediately followed Polo Ablazo, immediate past ComRel Coordinator, served as the quiz master.
The questions ranged from Easy to Difficult covering the subjects Mathematics, History, Science, English and Grammar. Aside from the challenging questions thrown, the brain show was made more enjoyable not only to students but also to the audience through trivia questions about FFI and Aboitiz with corresponding prizes during breaks. The FFI College and High School scholars also actively participated during the brainshow as usherettes and watchers. FFI scholars are not just brainy but also very talented for they presented special song and dance numbers during the breaks.
Finally, among the twenty schools, the top three were selected to battle for the Capas Brainshow Champion title. The final round became more exciting due to a series of tiebreaker.
Cristo Rey East Elementary School represented by Jaime Rivera, Lady Ann Tolentino and Joyce Rivera with their coach Eva Adiva was hailed the Champion. AD Jimenez Elementary school, 2007’s Champion, got the second place followed by Dolores Elementary School for the third place. Each student received cash prize amounting to Php 1,500 each for the 3rd placer, Php 2,000.00 each for the 2nd placer and Php 2,500.00 each for the Champion. One (1) Computer showcase and 2 (two) Multimedia showcases were also given to the winning schools.
The awarding was lead by Aboitiz Foundation’s EVP Mr. Sonny P. Carpio and FFI’s VP Operations Riel R. Griengo.

It has a commercial feed manufacturing plant located at Sto.Domingo II, Capas Tarlac and Kiwalan Cove, Iligan City to address the needs of hog and poultry raisers. It also has a swine breeding and finishing operations in barangays Aranguren and Cut-Cut, also in Capas, Tarlac.
