CABANATUAN CITY – A “well-off” farmer, reportedly involved in quarry operations, was killed by two unidentified men in Barangay Mayapyap here at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Police identified the victim as Norman Garcia, 54, married and resident of Baragay Sapang, also of this city.
Investigation disclosed that Garcia, who allegedly operates a quarry site in Gen. Natividad town, was driving a black SUV (CBF 3566) when fired at by the “casually walking” suspects using hand guns.
The suspects then drove a motorcycle and sped off towards Mayapyap Sur here, investigation also showed.
“The victim sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body,” a police investigator reported. He was rushed to Premiere Medical Center, a few kilometers away from the crime scene, for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival by an attending physician.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Jaime Santos said probers were collating CCTV footage as they conduct further investigation of the case.
