Reports reaching the office of acting city director, Senior Supt. Melchor Cabalza lll, identifi ed the suspect as Wilfredo Soria y Ramirez, 40, resident of Purok 5, Barangay San Isidro, Castillejos, Zambales.
Senior Inspector Walter Primero, Station 6 commander, said a concerned citizen informed their office of the suspect on board a motorcycle (1306 YP) carrying an unknown caliber of firearm tucked on his waist.
The report said that when responding policemen approached the suspect for verification, he introduced himself as member of the PNP and presently assigned at Subic Police Station, but when he was asked to present his identification papers, he could not produce any.
Police also asked him the name of his station commander but he failed to identify him prompting to the real cops to arrest him.
Recovered from the suspect were a .45 Armscor pistol with serial no. 1453289 loaded with seven live ammunitions, one hand grenade and two sachets of shabu from his front pocket.
The suspect is now locked up in jail facing charges for violation of RA 9516 (Illegal possession of explosives); RA 10591(Illegal possession of firearms and ammunitions); Section 11 of RA 9165, and RPC-Article 177 (Usurpation of Authority).
