CLARK FREEPORT – Health Secretary Francisco Duque led other government officials at the Luen Thai garments factory here Tuesday in the ceremonial vaccination of economic frontliners (A4) in Region 3 against the Covid-19.

Joining Duque were presidential spokesman Harry Roque, Secretary Vince Dizon, Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda, Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo, Clark Development Corp. chairman Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan, CDC president-CEO  Manuel Gaerlan and Luen Thai president Frank Sauceda.

Duque announced that as of Tuesday, 12 million Filipinos have already been vaccinated. He said he is optimistic that the Philippines will achieve herd immunity before Christmas.

This was also the observation of Dizon who said the government is jabbing 1 million vaccinees every four days. He said the country is assured of enough vaccine supply especially now that the US and European countries have been fully vaccinated or finishing with their jabbing.

Duque also congratulated Gov. Pineda for achieving a “low risk classification for Pampanga” in the percentage of people who tested positive for Covid-19 which has dropped to “(negative) -33.15 percent or equivalent to less than zero” which has listed Pampanga in the ”low-risk” classification for infection while “the daily attack rate or risk of spread for Pampanga is 2.61 cases per 100,00 population” also considered low.

Since Pampanga was able to achieve this, the whole region also reflects the same trend, Duque said. “I also congratulate DOH Region 3 for a job so far well done,” he said.

The Health Secretary also said once we achieved herd immunity, we can start opening the economy more and enjoy more relaxed health protocols.

Sauceda said Luen Thai has 5,000 workers, 500 of them were on queue for vaccination on Tuesday.

Duque administered the first vaccination to a lady Luen Thai worker as he assured that their families will also get vaccinated.

Gov. Pineda and Mayor Garbo were profuse in thanking both Duque and Dizon for giving Region 3, particularly Pampanga their all-out support.

Mabalacat supplied the Sinovac vaccines for the roll out adding to the LGU’s daily jab of 1,200 vaccinees.
