Dulce invades Kapampangan audience

    PREMIER Chanter Dulce, a christian artist, gave her all in her recently concluded testimonial concert which was held at the auditorium of The Charismatic Evangelical Ministries International (CEMI) in Villa Dolores in Angeles City.

    Dubbed as “A Mission To Transform” Dulce, sung to the top of her lungs her hit songs like:Ako Ang Nagwagi, Ako Ang Nasawi, Paano, Maalaala Mo Kaya, You Light Up My Life,and more of her christian songs.

    Maria Teresa Abellare Llamedo Cruzata, better known as “Dulce”, is a Filipino singer and theater actress most famous for the hit song “Ako Ang Nasawi, Ako ang Nagwagi”. Dubbed as the “Asia’s Diva,” she has gained critical acclaims by winning numerous singing tournaments in the Philippines and abroad. Dulce was born to a poor family in Villa Bulsita, Bulacao, Pardo, Cebu City. She started singing at the age of two. Her highest educational attainment was only elementary. She immediately went to Manila when opportunity came to pursue a singing career. She went on to win on many singing competitions including the popular “Tawag ng Tanghalan”, upon which she started her career, and the Second Metropop Festival on which she sang one of the late George Canseco’s compositions. Gracing recording studios, she became a singing sensation.

    Among her recognition is being the Grand Prize Winner in the 4th Asian Singing Competition in 1979 Hongkong, included in the National Press Club’s Tinig Award’s Top 10 Supersingers of the Phils. of 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1991, First Runner – up 3rd ABU Popular Song Festival, Putra World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur, Grand Prize in the Asia-Pacific Singing Contest in 1988 Hongkong, Representative to the 1995 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland, and 1st Runner – up 2002 Australia Open Entertainment Competition in Sydney. These accolades earned her the SPECIAL AWARD OF RECOGNITION during the 2003 Aliw Awards Night, and a star in the WALK OF FAME, Eastwood City in 2008.

    HIGHLY-ACCLAIMED Kapampangan director Brillante Mendoza bagged another Best Director Plum award.

    His film Ma’ Rosa was honored at the 54th Gijon International Film Festival, a Spanish-based organization.

    On Saturday night, November 26, 2016, the only Filipino who won in the said festival took to Twitter to thank the organization for his latest feat.

    The Pinoy filmmaker was chosen as winner by an international jury.

    Last May, the Cannes Best Actress award went to Ma’ Rosa lead star Jaclyn Jose, making her the first from the Philippines and South East Asia to win the said honor.

    Ma’ Rosa tackled the struggles of a mother captured by corrupt policemen for selling illegal drugs.

    The cast was comprised of Andi Eigenmann, Julio Diaz, Baron Geisler, Neil Ryan Sese, Mercedes Cabral, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Maria Isabel Lopez.difficult living conditions of a poor family in Manila.

    Brillante Mendoza previously earned the Best Director trophy for his film Kinatay at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009.
