BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inaugurated a 50.8-lineal meter, two-lane bridge at barangay Bayanihan in Maria Aurora, Aurora.

The infrastructure will open-up new opportunities not only for residents but also for the Egongot tribe as it will be easier for them to transport their agricultural products to nearby market.

DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the P57.9-million project also includes construction of a 286.1-lineal meter flood control structure and 263.2 meters of road approaches.

“With its completion, villagers will no longer have to cross the rock-strewn river that also overflows during heavy rains and typhoons,” he added.

It will not only provide residents with better mobility, but will also improve the delivery of basic social services in communities that have become more accessible.

The project was implemented in support of the government’s goal of providing infrastructure services to remote areas for their continued development. (CLJD-PIA 3)
