BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) inaugurated the newly constructed Diteki Bridge in San Luis, Aurora.

The 208.8-meter, two-lane infrastructure across the Diteki River is a notable development as it provides a seamless and safe passage for motorists and commuters with its enhanced design and broader deck that caters to increased vehicle volume and ensures uninterrupted traffic flow even during periods of heightened tourist activity.

DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said the eight-span bridge, with a budget of P178.48 million, serves as a vital link connecting the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Aurora.

“The timely completion of the Diteki Bridge has a major impact on transportation, enhancing travel convenience and accessibility by removing the difficulties of navigating the dangerous Diteki River Detour Road, especially during the risky typhoon season. This guarantees a secure and uninterrupted journey for large trucks and offers much-needed relief from the dangers they previously encountered,” he added.

The project included construction of a 334.46-meter concrete slope protection for Abutment “B” and 370.61-meter concrete approaches on both sides.

It incorporated road safety features such as thermoplastic pavements and solar lights that ensured the safety, accessibility, and well-being of commuters and motorists. (CLJD-PIA 3)
