CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) paved a local road at barangay Bical, Science City of Muñoz.
The P4.9 million project was implemented by DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office.
District Engineer Armando Manabat said the paving of the 0.57-kilometer section of the local road helps residents more conveniently access general services, especially farmers who often use the road in transporting their equipment and produce.
According to barangay resident Natividad Bermosa, the improvement of the local road has reduced their travel time when going to market centers.
“Mula noong magawa ‘yung kalsada, guminhawa na kami ng pagdaan. Nakakadiretso na ngayon. Noon kasi kahit alas tres kami magpunta, ‘pag dating doon [sa pupuntahan] mag-aalas singko na [dahil] sa hirap ng kalsada,” Hermosa furthered.
The project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD-PIA 3)
