BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a new bridge in San Luis, Aurora.

The 90-lineal meter concrete infrastructure links barangays Dibut and Dibalo.

DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said the P106.15-million project also includes construction of a 405-lineal meter flood control structure and a 346.5-lineal meter approach road.

“Locals used to brave an old, wooden, and worn-out Real Bridge that can only cater to light vehicles such as motorcycles,” Tolentino shared.

Other vehicles had to travel an additional 15 to 20 minutes to the barangays of Nonong and L. Pimentel just to cross the river especially when the water rises during heavy rains and typhoons.

With the completed project, residents of barangays Dibut and Dibalo now have a more reliable bridge infrastructure with an increased carrying capacity to access hubs in the municipality such as the San Luis Town Center located in barangay Poblacion. (CLJD-PIA 3)
