The Department of Tourism and the City of Mabalacat are fully supporting Clark Development Corporation (CDC) in hosting the 4th Sports Tourism Awards 9PSTA) in Clark Freeport.

Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo has underscored the role of Clark and its host communities in boosting the sports tourism industry.

Garbo, a known sports aficionado who plays basketball, golf, baseball and biking, said that the various recognition to be given in the event should once again revitalize the tourism industry.

“We are happy to note that people, groups and companies are being recognized. It should help permeate optimism, camaraderie and cooperation during these times,” Garbo said.

The PSTA recognizes and honors establishments and organizations both in the private and government sectors in promoting tourism through sports activities. Now in its fourth year, the event will be held at the Clark Marriott Hotel on December 10, 2020, with limited attendance and amidst strict health and safety protocols.

Presented by Selrahco, a public relations and marketing outfit specializing in tourism and sports marketing with full support from Smart Communications, Universal Robina Corporation, & Coca-Cola Philippines, The 4th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards will present 14 regular awards during the event, namely Sports Tourism Destination of the Year, Sports Tourism Organizer of the Year (private and government), Sports Tourism Event of the Year (domestic and international), Sports Tourism Sport Association of the Year, Sports Tourism Destination Marketing of the Year, Sports Tourism Hotel of the Year, Sports Tourism Event Sponsorship of the Year, Sports Tourism Charity Event of the Year, Sports Tourism Airline of the Year, Adventure Event of the Year, Sports Venue of the Year, and Sports Media Coverage of the Year, & two special categories for Sports Tourism Personality of the Year.
