CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Thousands of jobseekers flocked the “Tara Trabaho, G? Mega Job Fair” of the Department of Labor and Employment-Region 3 in partnership with the Office of Senate President Sherwin “Win” Gatchalian.
Held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here on Oct. 8, the job-matching event gathered 33 local companies and four overseas recruitment agencies offering 3,143 recorded job vacancies comprising 2,163 for local employment and 980 for overseas opportunities.
As of 2 p.m., the Philippine Information Agency reported 28 jobseekers are hired on the spot (HOTS), with applications and interviews still ongoing.
Aside from the placements, the job fair also provides access to one-stop-shop government services from the National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Statistics Authority, Social Security System, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Technical Education Skills Development Authority, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and Department of Trade and Industry for pre-employment requirements.
DOLE Region 3 director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol said the mega job fair in Pampanga is only the first of several similar activities lined up by the department until the end of the year. “We already have Bulacan and Tarlac mega job fairs pipelined on October 23 and in November. More provinces in Central Luzon will follow through as coordination is still ongoing.”
The “Tara Trabaho, G?” job fair supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s call and Secretary Francis Tolentino’s directive to provide decent and quality jobs for Filipinos and give jobseekers better access to employment opportunities. DOLE-3/Punto News Team
