WE WARMLY welcome the appointment of Secretary Vince Dizon as the new Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). We believe in his kakayahan and proven track record of public service. His leadership at the Department of Transportation has demonstrated competence, energy, and integrity—qualities very much needed at this critical time.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. made a wise choice in appointing Sec. Dizon to head the DPWH. With his marching orders from the President to lead an anti-corruption drive and a full organizational sweep, we are confident that he will take decisive action to address the long-standing issues hounding the department, particularly in flood control projects. These programs have for too long been tainted with irregularities, wasting resources that should have been dedicated to protecting communities.
We fully support Secretary Dizon in carrying out the President’s directive and in spearheading much-needed reforms. We are hopeful that under his stewardship, DPWH will not only clean up the mess in flood control projects but also fast-track the completion and implementation of vital infrastructure programs that are essential for national progress and economic growth.
