In preparation for the new normal in the education system, the local school board on Wednesday convened to identify priority projects and resources needed to support the city’s learning system vis-a-vis the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The board aims to prioritize the production of learning modules for Fernandino learners and purchase of information and communications technology devices such as laptops for teachers to support the learning system in the absence of face-to-face interaction.

They also plan to air learning contents and instructions in the local media with an aim to reach and help learners in their homes. Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, who chairs the school board, expressed his full support to the projects and interventions of the educators to deliver good quality education to Fernandinos amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.

Co-chairperson Dr. Imelda P. Macaspac, Pampanga Schools Division Superintendent, thanked Santiago and ensured the board that the Special Education Fund (SEF) will be maximized and aligned with the Department of Education’s “Learning Continuity Plan.”
