CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – With Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag at the helm, Pampanga’s capital city has been ranked ninth of all 110 component cities nationwide in the “Government Efficiency Pillar” of the Department of Trade and Industry’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

The CMCI is a tool that evaluates a locality’s competitiveness, and the Government Efficiency Pillar “refers to the quality and reliability of government services and support for effective and sustainable productive expansion.”

During the Central Luzon Creative and Competitiveness Summit held at the Quest Plus and Conference Center in the Clark Freeport on April 25, the City of San Fernando was cited for its outstanding performance in its management of local resources, issuance of business permits, delivery of health services, social protection, peace and order, and compliance with government-mandated directives.

In effect, the recognition serves as testament to Caluag’s steadfast adherence to transparency and accountability in all government actions as embodied in the top agenda of her administration – Good Governance.

Under the Government Efficiency Pillar, other than San Fernando, only Balanga City managed to join the top rankings at Number 10.

In the overall ranking that covered five pillars, CSF clinched the top spot in Central Luzon, emerging Number 12 nationwide with its overall placements, thus: Infrastructure, Rank 11; Economic Dynamism, Rank 12; Innovation, Rank 16; and Resiliency, Rank 32
