CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The city government opened on Tuesday another vaccination site at the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital to make the vax rollout easier and more comfortable to the elderly.

Dr. Iris Rose Muñoz, National Immunization Program (NIP) manager, said it was JBL that first offered assistance to the city government in its vaccination program.

“JBL po kasi is registered na as vaccination site noon pa, so in-offer nila yung site nila para makatulong rin sa LGU sa pagro-rollout ng vaccine. JBL ang kauna-unahang ospital na partner natin as vaccination site,” she added.

From June 1 to June 2, JBL is set to cater to 1,000 senior citizens, even as the inoculation at the Heroes Hall vaccination site continues.

All seniors to be inoculated at JBL will pass though the same process starting from registration, health screening, vaccination, and post-observation.

Rosa Mateo, 69, of Barangay San Jose, urged all other seniors to get vaccinated as she received her first dose.

The city government is scheduled to open another vaccination site in partnership with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Cente on July 5.

Muñoz expressed optimism that that the expansion of the city’s vaccination sites will provide comfort and ease to Fernandino seniors despite the limited vaccines the LGU is receiving from the Department of Health.

This developed as the city health office reminded seniors to come on their scheduled date and time to avoid delays and overcrowding in vaccination sites.

On Tuesday, the CHO inoculated a total of 1,026 senior citizens as CSFP’s vaccination program continues to roll out in its two vaccination sites.
