OLONGAPO CITY — Two confirmed cases of Covid-19 were reported today, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 18.
Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., head of the city inter-agency task force said the two new patients are both males: PHOC–17 is 37 years old, and PHOC-18, 27 years old. Both had travel history to Laguna from July 6 to 10 as part of a company seminar. The two were advised by the same company to have a routine walk-in swab test last July 17, which result turned out positive today, July 20.
Paulino said both patients remain asymptomatic, in stable condition, and are currently undergoing monitored quarantine.
The city health office has undertaken contact tracing of persons with whom the patients have mingled with. While none of those traced has shown any symptoms of the coronavirus disease, all were required to undergo the necessary 14-day home quarantine and will undergo swab testing.
Paulino assured his constituents that the city government is in close coordination with the Department of Health regarding the situation.
