CABANATUAN CITY – With 20 new infections recorded in a single day, that was on Sunday, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases spiked to 282, a report from the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force showed.
Of the new cases, two reportedly died thus Covid-related deaths in Nueva Ecija rose to 14, the same report said.
This city logged the biggest number in new cases at eight while Palayan City, San Jose City, and the municipality of San Antonio had two each.
The six other cases were logged in the municipalities of Rizal, Quezon, Santa Rosa, San Leonardo, Bongabon, and Peñaranda at one each, the NEIATF said.
Dead were Patient 195, a 49-year-old man from Barangay Bantug, Talavera and Patient 239, an 88-year-old woman from Kap. Pepe Subd., Barangay Kap. Pepe this city.
A 52-year-old woman from Barangay Adorable, San Leonardo, on the other hand, added to the number of recoveries, raising the figure to 124.
The report also showed that the eldest among the new cases was a 98-year-old woman from this city who is now under strict home quarantine.
Gov. Aurelio Umali who heads the NEIATF continues to call on the public to observe minimum health standard to help contain the spread of the disease.
