BALANGA CITY — A 62-yearold woman died Thursday, raising to two the number of deaths in Bataan caused by the coronavirus disease, the provincial inter-agency task force on Covid19 (IATF) announced Friday.

IATF chair Gov. Albert Garia said the woman from this city with travel history in Quezon City was confined March 24  at the Baypointe Hospital in Subic Bay Freeport where she died.

She became the second fatality of the dreaded virus after city administrator Rudy de Mesa who passed away March 27 at a hospital in San Fernando City, Pampanga.

As of latest IATF update, the number of cases confirmed positive of the virus was pegged at 14 with two deaths and three recoveries.  Those who recovered were still undergoing 14 days of postadmission quarantine.

The number of persons under monitoring reached 4,073, mild persons under investigation at 771, and moderate to severe PUI at 116.
