Among those who were present at the Midori Hotel in Monday’s book launching were top executives of the Clark Development Corp. led by president /CEO Noel F. Manankil and Clark International Airport Corp. OIC Alex Cauguiran.
Part one of the program was dedicated to the memorial service for Fiona Lucina G. Alvaro. Rev. Caroline Santos delivered a message of life followed by the singing of the hymn How Great Thou Art.
Part two was the formal book launching emceed by veteran broadcaster Perry Pangan.
A message through a song was led by Archbishop John Ayudtud followed by a synopsis by Dr. Dolores Quiambao.
Before the formal unveiling of the book, Archbishop Emeritus Paciano B. Aniceto gave the final blessing.
Afterwards, an audio- visual presentation was made on the short life of Fiona who passed away barely four months after she was born on January 24, 2006.
To cap the event, a message of thanks was delivered by Dr. Irineo “Bong” Alvaro Jr. and later, he was joined by his wife Irene in distributing copies of their book to the guests.
The book anecdotes the struggles of the Alvaro couple from the time Fiona was born until she passed away on May 22, 2006.
Various contributors also wrote their brief encounter with Fiona like Atty. Imelda ‘IQ” Quiambao- Tuazon, former IBP governor for central Luzon, who wrote the chapter “Borrowed Angels.”
“Everything good comes from God and must return to Him in His time. Fiona is one of our best gifts. She taught us the real essence of hope and patience.”
