SAN JOSE CITY – A civilian-agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was arrested by the police here for shooting to death his common-wife in their residence at Barangay Rafael Rueda about midnight Saturday.

Supt. Sidney Villaflor, chief of the local police, identified the suspect as Marlon Valencia, 42, while the victim was Sally Tinebro, 34, a native of Abucay, Abra.

The police chief said Valencia, while in the influence of liquor, confronted his wife for still unknown reason. He allegedly poked his gun at the head of the victim that suddenly went off causing the victim’s instantaneous death.

Villaflor quoted the couple’s ten-year old son as saying that when he was awakened by a gunshot in their bedroom, he saw his father cuddling his mother whose forehead was oozing with blood.

The boy also narrated, he said, that he heard his father saying “Demonyo ang baril na iyan.. Demonyo ang alak (That gun is a demon. Liquor is a demon)”.

Recovered by investigators SPO3 Mario Pastor and PO2 Joel Beltejar from the crime scene was a .45 caliber pistol without any visible trademark, one magazine assembly loaded with live ammunitions and an empty shell.

The couple has also two other children. The family runs a cell phone store here. The suspect is presently detained at the San Jose City Police Station jail while the documents for the filing of a murder charge are being prepared.
