ORANI, Bataan — Police on Monday reported an alleged accidental firing that resulted in the death of the chief of police of Pilar, Bataan.
Bataan police identified the victim as Major Rizaldy G. Rubio, 43, resident of Barangay Tapulao, Orani. An attending physician declared Rubio dead on arrival at the Orani District Hospital early morning of Monday.
Report showed that police received a call from May Rubio, wife of victim, that she heard a gunshot outside of their room. The caller also said she saw the bloody body of her husband with gunshot wound at the right abdomen and rushed him to the hospital.
The victim’s wife is also a member of the Philippine National Police with the rank of chief master sergeant.
Investigation is still going on.
