CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – NLEx Corp. has announced on Wednesday that the construction work on the C3-R10 section of the NLEx Harbor Link Segment 10 is now in full swing.
At present, the elevated road foundations are now in place at the site of the future NLEx Caloocan Interchange on C3 Road, Melchor “Kit” Ventura of NLEx Corp. said.
“Bored piling and column installment works are now ongoing on the elevated 2.6-kilometer C3-R10 section that stretches from C3 Road in Caloocan City to Radial Road 10 in Navotas City,” he added.
The C3-R10 section is the extension of the all elevated 5.7-kilometer NLEx Harbor Link Segment 10 that originates in Karuhatan, Valenzuela City over Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City and Caloocan nterchange in 5th Avenue Caloocan City.
Regarded as one of the government’s flagship infrastructure projects, the NLEx Harbor Link Segment 10 is envisioned to contribute to traffic decongestion specially along the western Metro Manila road corridor.
When completed, it will advance transport logistics and facilitate efficient delivery of goods with the direct and quick access between NLEx and the ports of Manila.
The new road network is further envisioned to help truckers and private motorists gain significant savings in vehicle operating costs with NLEx’s well-paved roads and the reduced travel time from Manila Port to NLEx and vice-versa approximated at 10 minutes.
Apart from easing travel congestion, it is expected to further drive business growth and bring more livelihood opportunities in the Caloocan- Malabon-Navotas- Valenzuela (Camanava) since these areas will be more accessible via NLEx.
In 2017, officials of the NLEx Corp., the Department of Public Works and Highways and the LGUs broke ground on the C3-R10 section of the NLEx Harbor Link Segment 10, a project highly-anticipated by stakeholders in the trucking industry, motorists, and residents in its nearby communities.
