ANGELES CITY – Congratulatory greetings, dovetailed by acceptance of defeat dominated Facebook accounts in Pampanga amid wide voting margins between candidates in the gubernatorial, vice gubernatorial, congressional, mayoral and vice mayoral races throughout the province.
Early yesterday morning, losing candidates and their leaders posted in their Facebook accounts acceptance of defeat and gratitude for those who had supported them.
Angeles mayoral candidate Alex Cauguiran, who landed third in the race, wrote his message in Kapampangan, thanking them for the “clean fight” and their friendship and support.
Pamintuan, whose party list Abeka did not make it, also addressed his Facebook account to his supporters in Kapampangan, asking them to go on doing good work.
His son Edu, who lost in his vice mayoral bid in Angeles, wrote “Keep ya head up. God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers.”

Losing City of San Fernando mayoralty candidate Vilma Caluag posted: “The election did not turn out the way we had hoped, but my family and I would like to take this moment to thank each and everyone of you for your support and encouragement. Maraming maraming salamat po sa mga sumoporta hanggang sa huli. Most especially, we’d like to thank Our Lord Jesus for being with us all through out. We have fought a good fight. We have finished the course. We have kept our faith. Thank you, everyone and congratulations to all the winners.”
Unsuccessful in his try for the mayorship, Porac Vice Mayor Dexter Albert David thanked those who hekped in his campaign and asked them to support the elected officials: “Kareng egana gana pung sinawup kaku, dakal a dakal a salamat. To David, the Porac parish priest addressed: “You fought a good fight, rest assured something will come that will surprise you. God is good all the time.”
