MARIVELES, Bataan: GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. has launched its first medical consultation in its desire to support quality health access and enrich ties with the community near its business here.

GNPD, a coal-fired power plant, conducted free medical consultation, provided 200 hygiene kits and medicines to villagers of Sitio Dinginin in Barangay Alas-Asin and held information, education and communication session for health and hygiene.

The activity was a joint effort between the Community Relations (CR) and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) departments of GNPD.

GNPD’s assistant vice president for community relations Arcel Madrid who spearheaded the program emphasized the company’s commitment to help the nearby community of Sitio Dinginin and its residents.

We at GNPD recognize this as one of our utmost priorities in our company. Together with SHE, we ensure that each member of our growing family stays safe while at work, and through this medical consultation, we are extending this commitment to the community,” he said.

Madrid assured that this is only the beginning of GNPD’s many endeavors to help enrich the lives of the residents, as they have more programs planned for Sitio Dinginin.  “We strongly believe that we are one with the community – they need our support just as much as we need theirs.”

Dinginin’s midwife Lorna Mariano who thanked GNPD explained the importance of prioritizing health and wellness.

Latest assessment of GNPD’s community relations team in the community showed that there were children with coughs, colds and skin diseases while the adults required medical attention and upkeep.
