CLARK FREEPORT – The Clark Marriott Hotel celebrated its first anniversary through a fun run dubbed, “Run to Give,” held over the weekend at the St. Joseph the Worker Chapel grounds here.
Both young ones and the young once gathered as early as 4 a.m. to support the event and raise funds for its foundation, Save the Children Philippines.
With over a thousand registered runners joining and running along with the inaugural celebration, the fun run was “a truly encouraging experience to see everyone support and value the activity for a cause,” said Bruce Winton, Cluster GM of Marriott International.
“Joining is also one way of keeping themselves fit and their hearts empowered to do more,” he added.
Run to Give is a key annual charity fundraising running event by Marriott International, Winston explained. “It is conducted simultaneously in Asia Pacific along with participating Marriott Hotels as one of Take Care movement. It also aims to encourage associates to live their best life by promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and creating a strong team synergy while making a difference in communities where Marriott International operates in,” he added.
Winston expressed his gratitude to Clark Marriott Hotel on its first anniversary by partnering with Save the Children Philippines.
Winton also extolled Marriott Hotel’s “values and compass in life to nurture, empower, sustain and welcome through its social empowerments and initiatives throughout the world.”
All proceeds from the event will go to the Save the Children Philippines.
Save the Children Fund is a 100-year-old organization established in 1919 in the United Kingdom to help improve the lives of children through better education, health care and economic opportunities. It has been in the Philippines for 38 years. Save the Children also provides emergency aid in natural disasters among other engagements by lending a hand across the world.
