CLARK FREEPORT — This Freeport is strategically positioning itself as a center for culture and arts by hosting events that showcase its vibrant heritage.

Over the weekend, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Department of Tourism Regional Office III (DOT RO 3) organized “Panata at Tradisyun: a creative celebration of faith in Clark,” highlighting Pampanga’s rich culture.

Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, President and CEO of CDC, emphasized the significance of preserving Pampanga and Metro Clark’s rich arts and cultural heritage for future generations.

“It is incumbent upon us to preserve and continue the rich culture of Pampanga. Let’s carry the past so that we can relive and enjoy the future, ensuring that tomorrow will always be bright. It is for us to nurture and ensure that our generation and the next will also see and embrace the arts and culture of the former,” she said during her welcome message.

The unveiling of “Burda, Dukit, at Pukpuk” at the Clark Museum reinforced the Freeport’s commitment to preserving the cultural legacy of the Pampanga province.

The exhibit showcased the intricate Kapampangan craftsmanship, including Santos’ vestments, depictions of the Lord’s passion, and embellishments on retablos and carrozas. It will be open every Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

For his part, Dr. Richard Daenos, Regional Director of DOT RO 3, praised the CDC’s efforts in promoting cultural events benefiting tourists and the local community, aimed at making Clark a premier educational and tourism destination.

“We laud the initiatives of the Clark Development Corporation in creating more and more events anchored on the culture, history, heritage, and community spirit of our beloved province,” he said.

Before the said events, Clark has been a preferred destination for arts and culture, hosting various activities that celebrate the region’s heritage and creativity. From the captivating “Ambun a Pasaguia,” featuring the works of Manuelito Trinidad Madrid, to the enchanting “Serenata and Misa de Pastolera” in December 2023, and the visually stimulating “Obra Visual Art Exhibit” at the Clark International Airport in June 2023, the Freeport has consistently offered a platform for artistic expression.

Also notable among these events are the landmark “Salangian Art Exhibits” of 2018 and 2019 showcasing diverse artistic expressions, including paintings, handicrafts, bonsai art, and more.

Moreover, plans are underway to showcase art collections from the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the National Museum of the Philippines in North and Central Luzon at Clark. This aims to attract more tourists and enhance Clark’s cultural and artistic landscape.
