CLARK FREEPORT— The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) recently inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Eight Integrated Development Corporation through its corporate foundation arm, Royce Hotel Foundation, Inc. for the provision of solar panels and water systems in two CDC-OB Pagsasarili Family Care Centers near this Freeport.
The said solar panels and water systems amounting to P5 million will be installed in the family care centers located in Marcos Village and Sitio Calapi in Mabalacat City, Pampanga by the end of the year or early next year.
According to CDC President and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, the project is very significant as it will not only help reduce the cost of electricity on daily consumption, but it will also benefit the environment as well.
“This one (project) is of particular interest to me, having come from the energy sector. It’s really more on educating our people in the use of renewable energy, and also in concern for the environment as part of the climate change. So it’s an entry point in educating our own people and even us, of its importance,” she said.
Devenadera thanked Royce Foundation, Inc. Admin Manager Benjamin Encinas for choosing the family care centers as the beneficiary of the said partnership.
“It is in the light and the spirit of having to embrace new technology, and having to love the renewable energy that we welcome everybody. We’re very grateful to Eight Integrated Development Corporation for choosing such a project,” Devenadera mentioned.
Meanwhile, Encinas expressed his eagerness to be part of the project which will benefit the Aeta community, most especially the Aeta children – ages three to four years old, who are enrolled students of the said family care centers.
“Since these centers are located in areas where electricity and potable water is considered inaccessible, providing this solar panels and water systems to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and water for their daily operations, thereby, achieving their objectives for which they were conceptualized,” he said.
“Royce Foundation, Inc. is very pleased and proud to be part of this project and we want to say that we are committed to actively participate in projects like this that are geared towards providing assistance and uplifting the lives of our Aeta brothers,” he continued.
Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. Chairman Jose P. De Jesus also witnessed the ceremonial signing as the CDC-OB Pagsasarili Family Care Center is his brainchild during his time as the former CDC Chairman.
Former CDC President and CEO Noel F. Manankil, who is the current CEO of Luzon International Premiere Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation was also present during the activity.
Also joining the ceremonial signing are newly-appointed CDC Director Atty. Bryan Matthew C. Nepomuceno, CDC Vice President for Admin and Finance Engr. Mariza O. Mandocdoc, CDC Assistant Vice President for External Affairs Rommel C. Narciso, CDC CSR and Placement Division Manager Col. Herbert S. Angeles, Royce Foundation, Inc. Chief Engineer Engr. Antonio Delgado, and Royce Foundation, Inc. Foundation Coordinator Rose Ann Sigua.
The OB Pagsasarili Family Care Center in Marcos Village currently has a total of 33 students while the center at Sitio Calapi is still under construction, targeted to be completed by the end of the year.
