CLARK FREEPORT — “Pillars of accountability and transparency.” Thus, Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera hailed certified public accountants in her keynote address at the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Induction and Turnover Ceremonies, held recently at the Quest Plus Conference Center Clark.
Devanadera emphasized the role of CPAs in upholding financial transparency, integrity, and trust. Drawing from her background in key positions in the government, she stressed the discipline and accountability inherent in the profession and the need to safeguard these values.
“CPAs do not just analyze trends; they influence them. They protect integrity, reduce risk, and uphold trust,” she said. “Every audit is a declaration that this is truthful, this is ethical, this is sound, and anything less is a risk no one can afford.”.
The CDC president pointed out that CPAs are essential to business operations and economic governance, particularly in investment zones such as Clark.
Devanadera addressed PICPA officers and members from various parts of the country during the event, which formed part of PICPA’s Annual Planning Conference carrying the theme “Action with IMPACT.”
Following her keynote address, Devanadera administered the oath of office to PICPA’s newly elected national board of directors, officers, board of advisors, national committee chairs, regional sectoral representatives, and chapter presidents for Fiscal Year 2025–2026.
The event also featured the valedictory address of outgoing PICPA president Atty. Roland Pondoc and the inaugural address of incoming president Gerard Sanvictores, who outlined the organization’s direction for the year ahead.
PICPA is the accredited national professional organization of CPAs in the Philippines with over 150,000 members from the sectors of public practice, commerce and industry, education, and government. CDC-PR
