Capas 4Ps beneficiaries undergo pineapple processing training

TARLAC CITY (PIA) — About 13 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Capas, Tarlac benefited from the entrepreneurship and pineapple processing training.

It was organized by the Negosyo Center (NC) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said the activity sought to impart knowledge and entrepreneurial skills among the participants and encourage them to consider doing business as their source of income.

“We hope that through this training, we were able to inspire the beneficiaries to venture into business for them to become self-sufficient and economically empowered,” she furthered.

For his part, NC Business Counselor Adrian Paolo David talked about the basics of entrepreneurship, how to register a business, the services the NC provides, and some inspiring stories of local entrepreneurs.

Raquel Lanzar from the provincial government of Tarlac, on the other hand, taught the process of making jam, syrup, and pastillas using pineapple as the main ingredient.

DTI, through its NCs present in all municipalities and city, conducts livelihood training to increase the number of micro, small and medium enterprises in the province. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
