ANGELES CITY– Police buybust operations in Central Luzon claimed the lives of two more suspected drug peddlers who allegedly opted to shoot it out with cops rather than surrender.

In a report, the Tarlac City police said one Donald Gutierrez, a resident of Barangay Culipat in Tarlac City, was killed after he pulled out his .38 pistol and shot at cops during a buy-bust operation in his barangay last Saturday.

“The suspect is engaged in illegal drug trade activity operating in Tarlac province,” the police report said, adding that the operation was conducted by joint elements from the provincial police, the provincial drug enforcement unit, and the Paniqui town police.

In the City of San Fernando, yet another “notorious drug peddler” also allegedly tried to shoot it out with cops in a buy-bust sting in Barangay Concepcion, San Simon, Pampanga.

A Camp Olivas report from San Simon police acting head Chief Inspector Louie Gonzaga identified the slain suspect only by his alias Ronelio of Baliuag, Bulacan..

The report said Ronelio was shot dead during a buybust operation hatched by a team from the local drug enforcement unit and members of the 2nd provincial mobile force somewhere in Barangay Concepcion in San Simon at 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Members of the team moved in after their poser successfully purchased a sachet of shabu from the suspect who allegedly tried to retaliate.

The report said the suspect pulled out his gun and fired at the cops who returned fire and killed him.

The report described Ronelio as a “notorious drug peddler in San Simon.”
