Bulacan’s Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO) said the plan is expected to boost the tourism industry in Bulacan.
“Bulacan tourism circuits will be mapped out and aggressively promoted. It is a strategy that will not only showcase tourism destinations but also link up all destinations for tourists in a way that’s geographically convenient for them,” the office said.
The office cited such geographical groupings as Malolos- Calumpit, Malolos-Bulakan, Obando-Meycauayan- Marilao, San Miguel-San Ildefonso, San Ildefonso-San Rafael, San Rafael-Baliwag, Baliwag-Pulilan, and Bustos- Baliwag.
PHACTO said it will come out with a new brochure featuring the new tourism strategy. It will also establish tourism information centers in all cities and towns in Bulacan at the cost of P10 million.
The office is also developing a new tourism website costing P300,000 to boost its new tourism plan. “This is to reach out to young tourists who have found modern information and communications technology as a major source of information,” it noted.
PHACTO said it will also spend P15 million for participation in travel expositions, travel marts, and other such events that can boost the local tourism industry.
The tourism plan also included repairs of infrastructure to be funded by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, including the replacement of two bridges at the historic Biak-na-Bato site in San Miguel town.
