OLONGAPO CITY – In line with the political season, the Olongapo City Police Office (OCPO), spearheaded an innovative community affairs and development activity to promote PEACE (Peaceful, Earnest, and Clean Election) 2019 dubbed as “Buddy Bike for PEACE” under the leadership of city director Police Col. Benjamin Sembrano.
Hundreds bikers from different clubs and organizations participated in the Buddy Bike for PEACE cycling fun drive around the city that started 6 a.m. at the Parade Ground at Camp Cabal in Barangay Barretto and ended in Barangay Asinan, a distance of 15.8 kilometers.
Sembrano, said the conduct of this activity is very important for the May 13 midterm election as it is intended “to deliver a clear message that even if we belong to different political parties, we share the same interest to serve our beloved people of Olongapo and to attain our mission of PEACE through harmony and camaraderie.”
It will also develop a culture of friendship and sportsmanship among rival candidates, he added.
“Let’s create a culture of peace and harmony in this electoral exercise. We all know that we are all for peace and we cannot attain any development, security and stability of a community if we don’t have peace,” Sembrano said.
