KATARINA RODRIGUEZ is one of the 40 candidates vying for the Miss World Philippines 2018 title at the grand coronation night on October 7 at SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
In an Instagram post last September 13, Katarina revealed that Miss World 2013 Megan Young has inspired her to enter the world of pageantry.
The 26-year-old model/host from Davao City, and Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 runner-up, posted their photo together at Bench Fashion Week 2018 last September 1.
She wrote on the caption: “Here’s a little #throwbackthursday to my very kilig moment at the @benchtm fashion show with the queen who inspired my spark into pageantry, the all around, naturally beautiful @ meganbata our Miss World 2013… Thank you for having the kindest heart Megan!”
She said, “I’m super busy! Usually, Monday through Friday, we have something.
“We always have training every day but it’s a lot of fun.”
The former MTV Philippines host already won the Miss Intercontinental Philippines title at the Binibining Pilipinas pageant last year, but said the age limit has emboldened her to join the Miss World pageant.
Katarina explained, “It’s my last year to join so I wanna maximize my time… because of the age limit.” Local pageants usually have an age limit of 27 years old. Asked what changes she’ll bring to the competition this time round,
Katarina answered… “The fact that I’m more prepared and I know what to expect is definitely a big change.
“Also, that I have a shorter amount of time to prepare in the event that I win Miss World Philippines to competing in the international pageant.”
More than anything else, according to Katarina, she hopes to serve as good ambassadress for her chosen advocacy, which is yet to be revealed.
“Miss World is very advocacy based and I really admire that about them.
“I feel like it’s the toughest pageant to compete in because you have to be holistic as a female, which is quite tough ‘cause you have to worry about all angles of the essence of being a woman.”

MEGASTAR Sharon Cuneta is praying that French filmmaker-businessman Pierre Emmanuel Plassart would be the man that her daughter KC Concepcion is going to marry. Sharon disclose the reason why KC and boyfriend broke up before.
“They were together na a few years ago, mga five years ago,”
“Sobra kasing nagkalayo nung maghiwalay the first time. Umiyak talaga ako kasi super…”
But this August through her Instagram account, KC confirmed their reconciliation.
Currently, KC is in France with Pierre.
“It was Pierre’s birthday kasi noong August 29, so he could not spend time away from her.
“They were together in Los Angeles, his family was also there. “So, umuwi na si Kace. ‘Tapos nagulat na lang siya kasi magbi-birthday si Pierre.
“Yun na nga, biglang may ticket na siya to Paris, kasi ayaw siya ni Pierre na malayo, for a while, for a few days.” says Sharon.
The megastar revealed what she likes about Pierre.
“Such a gentleman, such a gentle soul, at mahal na mahal at respetong-respeto niya ang anak ko.
“Sobrang pag-alaga niya kay KC,” Sharon also mentioned that she hopes Pierre would be the last man in KC’s life.
“Dinadasal ko. I remember nung maliit pa si KC, ang dinadasal ko, ‘Lord, lahat ng nakalaan na pain for her, sa akin Niyo na lang ibigay.’
“Kaya lang, hindi puwedeng ganun, di ba?
“So, marami ring pain na dinaanan ang anak ko on her own.”
“I hope it lasts forever, na wala na siyang hahanapin pa.
“Sabi ko kasi sa kanya noon, ‘You will never know someone’s real ugali hangga’t hindi mo nagiging boyfriend.
“’Kasi pag di mo boyfriend, puro pasikat lang, e. Hindi mo nakikita ang ugali.
“’So, huwag kang se-settle. Don’t think about what people will say.
“’Hindi naman sila umiiyak pag umiiyak ka. Hindi nila alam.
“’Hindi sila napupuyat pag napupuyat ka. Hindi mo naman kasi sinasabi rin, di ba? Ilan lang yung karamay mo.’
“Sabi ko, ‘Don’t stop until you know you are very much in love with someone, who loves you very much also.’”
