ABUCAY, Bataan- A Gerry’s Grill branch officially opened on Friday at a one-half hectare flat land along the Roman Superhighway in Barangay Capitangan here.
The branch is considered as the biggest outlet with complete facilities in Central Luzon of the franchise restaurant. Aside from the cozy restaurant, it has function rooms, brewery bar, swimming pool and resort/ hotel.
The resort and hotel under the PAN Resort Corp. are still undergoing construction. “Ang gusto ng pamilya namin ay magkaroon ng opportunity for business sa isang magandang lugal sa Bataan at dito nga sa Abucay namin natagpuan,” said owner Gerry Labinghisa.
Labinghisa is from Balanga City which is adjacent to Abucay. Abucay Mayor Ana Santiago welcomed the opening of the resort and restaurant in the area. “Inaasahan ko na mas maraming negosyo pa ang lilitaw sa magandang bahaging ito ng superhighway,” the mayor said.
Gov. Albert Garcia considered the opening of the Gerry’s Grill branch in Abucay as a significant business investment in Bataan. “Sa lumalagong investments dito sa lalawigan, kailangan ang mga support businesses tulad ng resorts at restaurant,” the governor said.
Aside from workers in the construction phase, the restaurant has 35 employees, mostly from Balanga City and Abucay. “More are to be hired when the resort and hotel become operational,” Labinghisa said.
