IBA, Zambales- A barbeque vendor was shot to death by a still unidentified gunman at the parking lot of the public market of this town, Wednesday evening, police said.
Reports reaching the office of Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO), director, Sr. Supt. Rolando Felix, identified the victim as Felix Ilagan, 53 and resident of Zone ll of this town.
Initial investigation disclosed that at about 8:10 p.m. while the victim was having a conversation with Gerry Garcia, night shift security guard at the public market and resident of Barangay San Agustin, Iba, Zambales, an unidentified male approximately 5’3” to 5’5”in height, medium built, arrived aboard a blue motorcycle and without apparent reason drew his short firearm and shot the victim twice.
The suspect went inside the public market then returned and fired another two shots at the victim causing his instantaneous death. The suspect fled after the incident aboard his motorcycle.
Recovered from the crime scene were four pieces of empty shells and three slugs of a caliber 45 pistol.
Scene of the crime operatives are now conducting autopsy examination on the victim.
Elements of Iba Municipal Police Station and the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team Sub-Office are still conducting follow-up operation for the identification of the suspect and the motive of killing.
