BALANGA CITY — The sangguniang panlalawigan on Friday announced that Bataan has an approved budget of P3,003,216,000 for 2023.
Vice Gov. Ma. Crisanta Garcia, SP presiding officer, said they unanimously passed the annual budget with the various developmental programs and projects lined up next year in mind.
The 2023 budget is lower than the P3.45 billion in 2022.
“Bumaba ang mga budget ng local government units since nagkaroon ng decrease sa national tax allotment. Basis for the allotment is 3rd preceding fiscal year which is 2020, start of the pandemic,” SP secretary lawyer Mark Lorenz Quezon noted.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III who approved the budget resolution last Wednesday described it as “matatag na pamilyang Bataeño budget.”
“Ang nasabing budget ay nakatuon sa ating vision na mas patatagin at paunlarin ang pamumuhay ng bawat pamilyang Bataeño kung saan nais natin na ang bawat serbisyo ng ating pamahalaan ay nakararating at nararamdaman ng bawat isa,” the governor said.
Garcia thanked the vice governor and SP members from three districts of Bataan for the immediate passage of the 2023 budget. “Katuwang natin sila sa pagsusulong ng mga resolusyon at ordinansa para sa kaunlaran ng bawat pamilyang Bataeño.”
