BALANGA CITY — The provincial government on Friday distributed service vehicles to different barangays in this province that officials said will be in a continuing process until all 237 villages will have their own vehicle each after submission of a barangay master plan.

2nd District Rep. Jose Enrique Garcia III said they distributed 26 multi-cabs in addition to 56 previously issued. Of the 56 units, 19 came from the provincial government and 37 from Garcia’s congressional office.

“Parang insentibo sa mga barangay na nakatapos gumawa ng master plan,” the congressman said, adding that funds are also ready for another 20 vehicles. The air-conditioned multi-cabs are worth some P1 million each.

Garcia said the last time the provincial government gave barangays service vehicles was about 10 years ago and therefore already needed replacements.

Funding for the vehicles came the national government through its departments downloaded through the Local Government Support Fund and from the provincial government itself through its General Fund.

The congressman was accompanied by Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice-Gov. Crisanta Garcia in the blessing of the vehicles.
