Bataan freeport locators, workers recognized

MARIVELES, Bataan
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan recently recognized the performance and contributions of its locators and workers in the Freeport Area of Bataan here, AFAB information officer Hazel Keith Ellorin said Monday.

Recipients of 26 awards were 20 companies and five individuals under different categories.

The top employer awardees for micro and small enterprises group are Subic Glove Manufacturing infirst place, Medtecs Materials Technology Corp., second and Wire Harness Tacachi Corp., third.

For medium enterprise group, the top employer awardees are DLX Bags Philippines, Inc. as first, Chun Chiang Enterprises Manufacturing Co. as second and Medtecs International Corp. Ltd. as third.

The top employer award for large enterprises group went to FCP Manufacturing Corp. at first place, followed by FPF Corp. and Mitsumi Phils., Inc.

Top community builder awardees are, in order of ranking, Perpetual Prime Mfg. Inc., Dunlop International (Philippines), Inc. and Chun Chiang Enterprises Manufacturing Co., Inc.

Exemplary FAB worker awardees are Maricon M. Quizon of Chun Chiang Enterprises Manufacturing Co., Inc., Ronnie A. Rivera of San Miguel Foods, Inc., Ronalyn B. Cabong and May Anne D. Fernandez of Perpetual Prime Mfg. Inc. and Cesar B. Tabucao of Dunlop International (Philippines), Inc.

Top exporter awardees for 499 and below employees category are: 1st- Good Sail Trading, Inc., 2nd- Trans-Am Waste and Rags Philippines Inc. and 3rd- Bahrain Fiberglass Int’l. Co., Ltd.

Recipients of top exporter awards for 500-1000 employees category are 1st- Dunlop International (Philippines), Inc., 2nd- BFD Global Footwear Mfg. Inc. and 3rd- Almatech Mfg. Corp.

For above 1,000 employees category, the top exporter award went to 1st- Mitsumi Phils., Inc., 2nd- FPF Corp., and 3rd- Dong-In Sunbirds Corp.

AFAB administrator Emmanuel D. Pineda expressed his sincere congratulations to all awardees saying that aside from becoming instant FAB celebrities, they also become heroes that the world and the FAB needs.

“To our awardees, not everyone is given the same recognition, because even though we strive to shine, there are those like you who shine brighter and light the way for others. May you continue to radiate the energy and light for the entire FAB community,” the administrator said.

Now is the time for the world to see that whatever the FAB achieves for Bataan’s progress and its people is ultimately because of people like you,” Pineda added.

Meanwhile, AFAB chairman Pablo M. Gancayco, through a video message, also expressed his gladness and gratitude knowing that the members of the FAB community are doing a good job and that the Bataan freeport is always in good hands.

“As we continue to strive to do good for the benefit of others, everybody comes closer to excellence – not for one’s self but in the service of others and this is what FAB is all about, the chairman said.

Ellorin said the AFAB created the FAB Stakeholders’ Night to show gratitude and appreciation to all its stakeholders that had positive and significant contribution in making the local economy grow, in promoting sustainable national development, and in improving the way of life of the community.  

Due to the coronavirus disease pandemic and declared community quarantines since March, the Authority had to postpone the awarding ceremony from October to December, she said.

Ellorin said the FAB enterprises that had outstanding export performances were conferred with the top exporter award while FAB enterprises that had exceptional performances in terms of job generation and labor law compliance, the top employer award.

The FAB enterprises that had the most significant contributions to the community through its own corporate social responsibility projects and through supporting the AFAB’s activities received the community building champion award.

FAB workers from the private or public sector that were nominated by their respective companies, agencies, or organizations, or by their peers were evaluated through demonstration of their high levels of commitment, service, and performance excellence.

Those who stood out were recognized through the exemplary FAB worker award.

Ellorin said winning FAB enterprises received plaque of recognition while exemplary workers were given gift checks and a plaque of recognition.
