Bataan fishermen recover P5.1M-worth of shabu

BALANGA City: The Bataan Police Provincial Office reported that fishermen from Mariveles, Bataan recovered shabu worth P5.1 million and turned over to police operatives Monday.

Bataan police director Col. Palmer Tria said the turn over was a result of intel-driven operations by the provincial police for just a day.

The first campaign was conducted after a 47-year old fisherman informed the Mariveles municipal police station and PDEA of the presence of the illegal drugs in Barangay Camaya in Mariveles.

Tria said the operation resulted to the seizure of two pieces of pack knot tied transparent plastic sachet containing 350 grams of shabu with standard drug price of P2,380,000.

The second drive conducted by the Bataan Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led in the confiscation of two large plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 400 grams and standard drug price of P2,720,000.

Tria said it was turned over by a 34-year old fisherman from Barangay Sisiman in Mariveles who said that he recovered the illegal drugs sometime last week of September while fishing somewhere in the area of Palawan.

Tria said the confiscated evidences were brought to the Bataan Provincial Forensic Unit for appropriate examination and proper disposition.(30)
