Bataan Capitol opens Christmas trade fair

BALANGA CITY — The provincial government opened a Christmas trade fair selling and showcasing various products raised and produced in Bataan.

The fair is located at the first floor of the fully-airconditioned The Bunker that replaced the Bataan Capitol as new seat of the provincial government here.

The provincial cooperative and enterprise development office under Azucena Sugatain and the office of the provincial agriculturist headed by Engr. Joey Dizon spearheaded the three-day trade fair from Monday to Wednesday.

“Buo ang aking paniniwala na sa ating pagkakaisa ay sama-sama tayong babangon nang may mas matatag at mas masiglang ekonomiya,” Gov. Albert Garcia said.

Thirty micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs participated, displaying the best food and non-food products and other agricultural products in the province.

“Sana’y tangkilikin natin ito at suportahan ang mga lokal na namumuhunan upang sama-sama tayong makaahon sa pandemya lalo na ngayong panahon ng Kapaskuhan,” the governor said.

For sale are different plants, flower pots, fruits, vegetables, the much-sought tuyo, tapa, and bagoong, souvenir T-shirts, bags, wallets, and hats.

Araro cookies, polvoron, lengua de gato, banana chips, gurguria, chili oil, crab paste, dilis, squid, nilasing na hipon are also on sale.

There are also salted and sweetened peanuts, cashew nuts, kimchi, atsara, fried garlic, sampaloc, patis, peanut butter, flavored mushroom chips, turmeric powder, ginger powder, ginger candy, honey, and itlog na balot.

Also available are homemade ensaymada, cheesecake, cassava cake, sandals, slippers, rugs, potholders, chair covers, among some others.
