Balanga City, Samal town in Bataan receive national awards

BALANGA CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry has recognized a city and a town in Bataan as among the country’s most competitive for 2021.

Recipient of separate awards were Balanga City last Monday and Samal this Wednesday.

Mayor Francis Garcia received the award for the Schools Division Office of Balanga City from DTI Competitiveness Bureau director Lilian Salonga during a short program at the Bataan Tourism Park in the city while Mayor Aida Macalinao got the award for the Samal local government unit via zoom.

SDO Balanga City was given the 2021 Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management for Level 1 of the Philippine Quality Award “for its dedication to have an efficient program and technique to render quality education.”

Joining Garcia in receiving the award were SDO-Balanga City superintendent Ronnie Mallari, assistant superintendent Ilynne Samonte and principals of city public schools.

SDO Balanga City was bestowed the highest level of national recognition.

Government Efficiency award for Samal.

The Samal LGU was included in the Top 8 Government Efficiency under Class 3 and 4 Municipalities Competitiveness Index and Central Luzon Regional Competitiveness Summit in the awarding of the 2021 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index.

“Malugod kong binabati ang Lungsod ng Balanga at ang DepEd-SDO Balanga City ganoon din ang bayan ng Samal sa parangal na kanilang nakamit,” Gov. Albert Garcia and Vice-Gov. Cris Garcia said.
