This is in line with the program to boost marine biodiversity in the area.
Led by Inspector Johsua Aboga, chief of operations and police-community relations of PNP-RMU3, the group installed five concrete culverts to serve as an additional artificial reef and shelter for marine life.
The artificial reef is located within two nautical miles from the shoreline of Barangay Calapacuan.
Aboga said his office and the barangay will jointly monitor and protect the area from possible looting and illegal fishing.
In addition to increasing fish catch, the area can be open as a dive site.
