CITY OF SAN FERNANDO
The Philippine Army brought home to Central Luzon a total of 14 students of University of the Philippines-Los Baños who were stranded in Laguna following the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine.

Eleven of the students are residents of Aurora, two are from Bulacan and one from Nueva Ecija. They were assisted by troopers from the 703rd Infantry Brigade, 48th Infantry Battalion, 84th Infantry Battalion and 91st Infantry Battalion.

“All concerned secured necessary health certificates prior to their travel back to their provinces. Coordination with their respective local government units was also done to ensure that the students as well as their loved ones will not be infected with the coronavirus disease,” 703rd Brigade commander Col. Andrew Costelo said.

We believe that families should be together in this time of crisis. Re-uniting these stranded students with their families is just one step for us to Heal As One. Seeing the smiles of all family members during their reunion is an inspiration for us to continue our duties,” he added.

For his part, 7th Infantry Division commander Major General Alfredo Rosario Jr. emphasized that the Philippine Army is always ready to help those in need particularly during this time of Covid-19 pandemic.

“Parallel to our commitment to serve the people and secure the land, rest assured that anyone in need is welcome to ask for our help. The pandemic caused gargantuan responsibilities and hardships, but the Filipino people successfully showed resilience. The undertaking is to remind all of us that as we combat and win against the pandemic no one shall be left behind,” Rosario emphasized.Carlo Lorenzo J. Datu/PIA 3
