When Aqua Skin Philippines started during the height of the pandemic in 2020, there were only five people in the team including its founder Jeff Amurao.
Fast-forward to two years later, Aqua Skin PH’s team grew to 18 dedicated staff along with awards and recognitions from national and international award-giving bodies.
At a time when employees easily quit and move on to other jobs, what made Aqua Skin PH staff stay in the company?
Senior Sales Marketer Bea Castro shared, “We are so blessed for being part of Aqua Skin PH. [Sir Jeff] gives priority to our welfare. He would always host a ‘pamper day’ for us so we can relax and unwind. And the best part, he’s literally our Santa Claus this Christmas because he gave us not only 13th month pay, but 14th month pay, too.”
Sales and Marketing Head Roxy Perez is also thankful for Amurao’s generosity.
“We feel priveliged because not all companies would give 14th month pay. This extra pay is really helpful for us,” Perez shared.
As a former employee himself, Amurao said he wants to give more than what his staff expects from the company.
“I treat my staff as family and with that, I want them to feel special,” he said.
Amurao shared that in 2020, he created two programs specifically for the welfare of his staff. First, a pamper day where he treats everyone to a restaurant and gives them cash where they can spend for any pamper service they choose. Second, giving regular employees 14th month pay.
“This is also my way of giving back and thanking my staff for reaching their sales targets which solidifies Aqua Skin PH’s presence in the market,” Amurao shared.
In April 2022, Amurao hosted an all-expense paid trip to Boracay to all his staff.
“Our company might not be as big, we don’t have connections to huge corporations or people, and we have limited resources, but my staff’s heart and dedication to their jobs is unimaginable. They are the backbone of my business, so I will do and give everything to keep everyone of them,” Amurao shared.
Aqua Skin PH Office Manager Lady Feliciano thanked Amurao for showing appreciation to their efforts.
“We’re so happy that our boss, [Sir Jeff], never fails to show his appreciation to our hard work. His employee welfare programs keep us motivated and inspire to do more for the company,” Feliciano said.
For their upcoming Christmas party, Amurao plans to raffle off additional vacation leave and birthday allowances to further motivate his employees.
