BALER, Aurora (PIA) — The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) continues to strengthen its role as a driver of inclusive and sustainable development through key infrastructure projects and investment initiatives under the “Bagong APECO” agenda.

During his State of the APECO Address, APECO President and Chief Executive Officer Gil Taway IV said the state firm’s reform-driven direction has restored investor confidence and reinforced its position on the national investment map.

He emphasized that sustainable development requires reliable infrastructure, including roads, utilities, and support facilities, to enable industrial growth and community development.

“The agency now has a Master Development Plan that organizes land use and designates proper locations for future industries, supported by sound urban planning,” Taway explained.

He reported progress on previously stalled projects, noting that four out of nine initiatives worth nearly P800 million have already been completed.

These include the Sewage Treatment Plant Phase 1, Central Water Supply and Reservoir Phase 1, the Fire Station, and the Supply and Delivery of Fire Protection Equipment.

Likewise, the official further highlighted the state firm’s long-term strategy to build an integrated value chain that supports local producers, particularly farmers and fisherfolk.

“APECO will have a chain of production, processing, and trade. The processing facilities will transport your harvest and catch to local markets or even to international markets,”

Through strengthened governance, improved infrastructure, and a clear development roadmap, APECO continues to position itself as a strategic growth hub contributing to inclusive and sustainable development in Aurora and the region.(CLJD/MJRD, PIA Region 3-Aurora)
