ANGELES CITY – The first-of-its-kind rescue mobile application in Central Luzon was launched in Barangay Pandan here Jan. 28, ensuring more efficient and effective response to community emergencies.

Angeleño Alerto! 24/7 Mobile App, also known as the Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI), enables residents to report incidents and share their precise locations directly with the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) thereby fast tracking its responders’ adaptive action to the situation.

“The safety of every Angeleño is our priority. With this app, we can reduce response time, ensuring appropriate help arrives faster during critical moments,” noted Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., stressing that minimizing emergency response time has been a key focus of his administration as “every second counts in saving lives.”

Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas, who oversaw the app’s development alongside Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and information communication and technology division chief Mike Lising, detailed some of its features during the launch that included a simulation exercise that showcased how the emergency response app operates.

“This technology empowers Angeleños to take control of their safety. No matter where you are, help is now just a tap away,” Calaguas said, citing POGI’s location-sharing function that allows emergency responders to accurately locate incidents, even when users are unable to communicate directly.

Lising added that the app is free to download and easy to install. Users will go through a registration process, after which responders from the ACDRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection-Angeles City, and the Angeles City Traffic and Management Enforcement Unit can be dispatched efficiently.

Calaguas also announced that a step-by-step guide on how to register and utilize the app will be shared on the Angeles City Information Office’s Facebook page.

Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II also graced the event to impact community safety as a premium in local governance which he has long held as core value in his years as public servant.
